PILPG Update: Gabriel Oosthuizen Has Been Selected to Serve As the Uganda Project’s Chief of Party

Gabriel Oosthuizen has been selected to serve as PILPG’s Chief of Party for the Uganda Project.  Gabriel will be starting with PILPG on April 3, 2010 when he travels to Uganda to begin working with PILPG’s clients in-country.

Gabriel is currently Executive Director of International Criminal Law Services (ICLS).  Before joining ICLS, he served inter alia as legal adviser to judges at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and head of a legal unit in the UN’s Kosovo mission.   He has provided consultancy services on a range of issues, including international criminal law, human rights, security, development and international affairs.  He is a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London, and he has written a book on the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and other publications on international law and international affairs.  He holds a Master’s in Public international Law cum laude from the University of Leiden, and an LLB from the University of Pretoria.
